How out of balance is life

Updated: Nov 24, 2020

Sometimes we don't even notice how out of whack our lives really are! It's a "slow fade" into insanity, isn't it? Here are a few signs that things need realignment.

  1. Can't tell if your accomplishing anything - This happens, and sometimes you're working on a HUGE project that will all of a sudden come to a glorious conclusion! Other times, your spinning your wheels and getting no where. To fix this, look at the big picture. Expand your understanding and awareness of the end result. It's possible that you might be focusing far too much on the minutiae and you lose sight of where you're going. It's hard to move forward when you're note looking towards the horizon.

  2. You're spent, tired and feeling unmotivated - Sometimes you end up with physical symptoms of this, constant headaches (you might just need glasses, don't kid yourself), emotional stress (you're crying randomly or easily heated/aggravated). To fix this, find a purpose! Easier said then done right? Find something that really stokes your fire, gets you excited or really enjoy doing! And NOT a career/job... a hobby. Something to do in your spare time. Something that doesn't drain you or make you feel like your forced to do it. We can't really help you because, there is no perfect, one-size-fits-all option that you should be striving toward.

  3. Your "to-do today" list is not achievable and/or stretches to the north pole. - It's easy to add EVERYTHING to your list. If that's you, you need a second list... a "I'm bored and have nothing to do" list. Only look at that list when your true to-do list is complete (which will be far and few between, so make good notes!) To fix this, pause. Take a deep breathe or two, reassess what's valuable to do (your family or someone you care about has asked you to do something), worthwhile for your career (keeps you employed or moves you forward) or wholesome for your soul (something that makes you relaxed or feel better). If you've got things that don't fit into those three... say, "no thanks" to them.
